2026: QiY Inters Holidays

Our holidays are short residential breaks for young people.
Inters Holidays are for young people in school years 6–9 (or equivalent) from the Yorkshire area. They are a chance to spend time with others, build friendships, and explore Quaker life together — in a supportive and welcoming environment.

Where?

Ilkley Quaker Meeting

When?

26th–28th June

Who?

Young people in school years 6, 7, 8 and 9 (or equivalent)

What does it cost?

We use a tiered pricing system to keep holidays accessible to everyone:

  • Supporter £50 (covers your costs and supports another young person)
  • Standard £40 (the actual cost of the holiday)
  • Supported £30
  • Full bursaries available

Please choose the rate that feels right for your circumstances. There is no judgement — we understand each family’s situation is different.
If you’d like guidance, please get in touch.

What happens on the holiday?

Inters is a place to:

  • have fun
  • build friendships
  • explore Quakerism and Quaker practice

Over the weekend, young people will take part in a mix of:

  • games and group activities
  • creative sessions
  • time outdoors
  • shared meals
  • discussions and reflection
  • quiet time

There is space for young people to relax, connect, and be themselves.

Questions or concerns

If you have any questions or concerns about activities or your young person’s participation, please contact:
LinkGroup@quakersinyorkshire.org.uk
or add a note in the “anything else” section of the form.

Who’s running the holidays?

Inters Holidays are planned by a volunteer group, part of and accountable to Quakers in Yorkshire.

The holiday is run by a team of volunteers, supported by the Youth Development Worker for Yorkshire.

The designated parent liaison is Jo Baynham, who can be contacted via the email above.

Young people with additional needs

We want all young people to feel welcome and able to take part.

It is really important that we understand any needs in advance so we can support everyone safely and well.
Please include any relevant information on the booking form.

If your young person receives support at school, it is helpful for us to know what that looks like.
You are very welcome to get in touch before booking to talk things through.

Safety & medical information

We collect medical and consent information so we can respond quickly and appropriately if needed.

We take a case-by-case, safety-based approach to rooming arrangements in line with QiY policy.
If your young person identifies differently from the sex on their birth certificate, we will likely be in touch to discuss how best to support them.

Please include any additional information you feel we should know.

IMPORTANT: Contact during the holiday

We aim to ensure a safe and positive experience for everyone.

Occasionally, a young person may need to go home early (for example due to illness or behaviour affecting the group). By booking a place, parents/guardians agree to:

  • remain contactable during the holiday
  • make arrangements to collect their young person if needed

Safeguarding

We follow the safeguarding policies of Quakers in Yorkshire.

  • Holiday safeguarding contact: Jo Baynham
  • QiY Safeguarding Coordinator: Liz Schweiger
