Quarterly Meetings

All Friends and Attenders from the seven Area Meetings comprising Quakers in Yorkshire are warmly invited to attend Quarterly Meetings.  These take place in January, April, July and October and  are hosted by different local meetings.

Quarterly meetings conduct some business including appointing to bodies for which QiY is responsible and receiving reports.  In addition, with guest speakers (often Quakers), programs provide opportunities for learning, spiritual enrichment as well as social opportunities. Themes usually reflect those in which Friends have a particular interest. They last from 10.30 until 4.00 p.m. with the exception of July’s, when the meeting finishes by 1.00 p.m., enabling Friends to take part in social activities in the afternoon.

All meetings include appointments, nominations and usually testimonies to grace of God as shown in the life of Friends, and there may be other business.
