2023: Junior Holiday Barmoor – booking page

Our holidays are short adventure breaks for young people who are aged between 7 and 12 (inclusive, at the date of the event) from the Yorkshire area.  They are a chance for young people to meet together, get to know each other and spend time away from their family in a Quaker group.

Applications from outside of Yorkshire are considered, if the young person in question has strong links to the area or other attending participants.

Where? Barmoor, Hutton le hole, Kirbymoorside, YO62 6UE

When? 22nd -24th of September

Who? Children aged 7-12

What does it cost? £75 per child.

What happens on the holiday?

This year our theme will be “Living Adventurously”.

There will be a variety of indoor and outdoor activities, including walks, games, team challenges and arts and crafts. Barmoor has a large garden and games room which can be used in unprogrammed time.

If have any questions about any potential activities or concerns about your child’s participation in them please contact juniorholidays@quakersinyorkshire.org.uk or make a note on the form in the “anything else” section.

Who’s running the holidays?    The gatherings are planned by the Junior Holidays planning group, who are part of, report to and are underwritten by Quakers in Yorkshire. Barmoor is normally staffed by up to 4 adult volunteers, the Youth Development worker for Yorkshire and from time to time older teenage volunteers. The designated parent liaison volunteer is yet to be decided, in the interim jonathonb@quaker.org.uk can answer questions or concerns.

What about the costs?    The cost of the weekend is £75 per child. However we would be disappointed indeed if any parent felt they couldn’t send their young people for financial reasons – let us know on the form if you need financial help or email the Yorkshire Youth Development Worker Jonathonb@quaker.org.uk. Discretion is and confidentially is assured.

Holiday theme: Living Adventurously. We hope that attending young people will bring something they would take on an adventure to talk about. Please note this item should not be alive or so precious that it might not withstand the rigors of Junior Holiday!

How do I book? We have limited places (21) available please book early. Please complete the online form below and make a payment of £75 for your child.
